Delegations of the Serbian Ministry of Energy and Mining and the Slovenian Ministry of Economy, led by ministers Radomir Naumov and Andrej Vizjak, agreed that the existing economic cooperation between the two countries is a solid base for more concrete ties.
Naumov updated the Slovenian delegation on the reorganisation at Serbia’s two biggest public sector enterprises and he pointed to the rapid implementation of the EU’s energy guidelines. These processes are expanding the scope of possibilities for cooperation in both the electricity and the oil and gas sectors, according to Naumov.
Participants in the meeting in Belgrade agreed that Slovenia’s experience in the creation and liberalisation of the energy market are very important for Serbia.
Vizjak said that the Slovenian government has recognised its interest in the implementation of the Pan-European oil pipeline between Constanta, Romania, and Trieste, Italy, not least because the construction of a natural gas pipeline is also being considered.
The Slovenian guests expressed particular interest in cooperation between the energy regulators and in establishing direct links between Serbia’s and Slovenia’s companies, chiefly in the energy sector.
