Prime Minister Ana Brnabić stated today that 9,648 companies applied for the programme "My First Salary", for which the Serbian government set aside RSD 2 billion.
Speaking on Television Pink, Brnabić stated that the data are still being processed and that the number is expected to exceed 10,000, explaining that this means approximately 15,000 jobs for the beginning of young people's business careers.
According to the Prime Minister, it is expected that the number of jobs advertised through the "My First Salary" programme will be even higher and will amount to approximately 17,000.
She announced that the Data Centre in Kragujevac will be completed at the end of October, which, as she said, will be the most modern of this kind in Europe.
A multi-purpose laboratory building in Niš, a part of the local Faculty of Electronics, will be completed and opened in October, the Prime Minister stated, adding that this will create conditions for young people to stay in the country.
The Prime Minister also said that there are indications that this year we will not have a drop in gross domestic product at all, which would be a huge success.
Brnabić pointed out that next week will be crucial for the formation of a new government, and added that she believes that it will be formed in mid-October.
She also stressed that the opening of the office of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) in Belgrade will benefit everyone in the region.
The Prime Minister pointed out that President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić negotiated this project so that it would bring something to Serbia and the entire region, recalling that there can be no strong and stable Serbia without a strong and stable region.
Brnabić said that the director of that office, John Jovanović, had already started touring the region in order to get to know the economy and see which projects are a priority.
The very fact that the United States appointed Jovanović as head of the office in Belgrade shows how much they care about Serbia.
She stated that the fact that the United States looked carefully at how to find a man who has a lot of experience in working with the private sector and financial institutions, and who is of Serbian origin, shows how much they care about relations with Serbia.
