Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali talked today with the representatives of the American International Development Financial Corporation (DFC) and EXIM Bank about future joint projects that are important for the citizens of Serbia.
After the meeting, Mali pointed out that Serbia's goal is to stimulate economic growth, which, as he assessed, is possible with the planned investments of the state and the arrival of the DFC.
We are talking with the representatives of the DFC about billions of dollars, which will be available to our state, ie the economy and citizens, the Minister stated, adding that this is an opportunity not to be missed.
He pointed out that he was extremely satisfied with the meeting, because immediately after the establishment of the office, concrete talks started about the projects that will be realised.
In the next ten days, we will bring to an end three programmes, which are important for the citizens of Serbia, announced Mali and added that our companies have already withdrawn funds in the amount of 1.3 billion euros, and it is expected that the guarantee scheme in agreement with the DFC will be even more favourable.
The Minister explained that a new meeting with the director of the Belgrade office of the DFC is expected next week, when the agreement on the guarantee scheme will be concretised.
In addition to the mentioned guarantee scheme, they insist on providing a special line for micro, small and medium enterprises, but up to 500 employees, for their further development. In that way, the investment risk is reduced, and businessmen gain the credibility they need to develop and open new markets, stated Mali.
