Brnabic told the Director of the Permanent Secretariat that he can fully count on the support of the Serbian government in the continuation of the extremely important work that the Transport Community is doing for our citizens.
She pointed out that this especially refers to the construction and safety of roads, investment in railway traffic, but also the removal of non-physical barriers and more efficient and faster border crossing.
Zakonjsek emphasised that these are also the priorities of the Transport Community, supported by action plans, and he informed the Prime Minister about six priorities, which are also the priorities and interests of the government of Serbia.
He pointed out that it is necessary to think regionally, especially when it comes to road infrastructure, i.e. the so-called green and digital roads, and cited Corridor 10 as an example.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the Transport Community is an extremely important regional partner for Serbia, and in support of that she stated the fact that the seat of the Secretariat is in Belgrade, as well as the fact that the Transport Community Agreement has already been signed.
According to her, the development and connection of the surrounding countries and the Western Balkans means a better life for the citizens, but also a better position of Serbia on the path of European integration.
The Director of the Permanent Secretariat pointed out that he is absolutely sure that transport and regional connections will play a crucial role in the recovery and further progress of the Western Balkans, including countries that do not formally belong to that area, but are located in the neighbourhood.
