Prime Minister Ana Brnabic visited today, together with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic, the newly-built apartments for members of the security forces in Vranje.
Brnabic underlined on this occasion that this project, for which the initiative was given by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, has a broader effect on society.
We created jobs for our civil engineering industry and companies. Domestic firms are working on almost all apartment construction sites and minimum 80 percent of the materials are made in Serbia, the Prime Minister explained.
In addition, we managed to revitalise the parts of the city that were neglected, and the coffers of local self-governments are now fuller, she pointed out and added that the development of hospitality industry and other industries has been encouraged.
Brnabic expressed gratitude to all members of the security forces and their families for their sacrifice on keeping Serbian citizens safe.
Mihajlovic specified that 186 apartments have been completed in Vranje until now, while 7,950 flats will have been built in seven cities in Serbia by the end of 2022, in which the government will invest €290 million.
She underlined that 5,500 apartments are being built at the moment.
In addition to investments in construction of apartments and utility infrastructure, we also invest in roads. We completed Corridor 10, we build new motorways and railroads, as well as new airports, all with one goal – so that people stay to live in Serbia, the Deputy Prime Minister concluded.
