Serbian Minister of Energy and Mining Radomir Naumov, Director of the Energogas Oil Industry of Serbia Milutin Prodanovic and representatives of 27 municipalities of Western Serbia, signed today in Sabac a protocol on cooperation and introduction of gas pipelines in this region.
On this occasion, Naumov pointed out that the building of gas pipelines in Serbia is one of the top priorities in the energy policy and it occupies a significant position in the energy development strategy.
He added that the signing of the protocol will round off a cycle of initial activities to build a gas and distribution network in towns of Western Serbia.
Prodanovic said that the protocol is a result of the cooperation between the private and public sectors, whose aim was to speed up the process of gasification in municipalities of Western Serbia, create conditions for an intensive economic development, cut the costs of heating and overloading of the electro-energetic system, as well as to preserve the environment and improve environmental conditions in these municipalities.
He recalled that this is the third round of signed protocols on gasification – the first was signed in Vrnjacka Banja with representatives of the Central Serbia municipalities, and the second in Nis with representatives of municipalities from Southern Serbia.
