Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said today that she does not expect that ultimatums will be issued to the Serbian delegation at a meeting between representatives of Belgrade and Pristina in Washington.
During an appearance on Television PINK, Brnabic said that today Serbia is not in a position to receive ultimatums from anyone and that it has very correct relations with the administration of US President Donald Trump.
We have a better communication with the Washington administration than in the previous few decades, so I don’t expect ultimatums, she said and added that she expects very difficult talks.
The Prime Minister said that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has gone to Washington together with Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali and President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Marko Cadez, and noted that the Serbian delegation has gone to Washington very well prepared.
That is a team that is completely ready to talk about projects that will lead to better connections and normalisation of relations between Belgrade and Pristina, which is something President Vucic has been working on since 2014, she said.
Commenting on accusations that Belgrade interferes in internal matters in Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brnabic stated that without peace and stability in the region, there can be no prosperity either in Serbia or in those other countries.
The Prime Minister underlined that the countries of the region should stop going back to the past, but to look to the future, and added that Serbia will continue to take care of the Serbs wherever they live.
She said that the goal of the politics of our country in the previous seven or eight years has been a better life for citizens of Serbia, and to achieve that, we need peace and stability in the region.
Without that there will be not enough foreign investors, cheap credits for our companies and citizens, nor enough money to build the much needed infrastructure, the Prime Minister underlined.
