Serbian Minister of Labour, Employment, and Social Policy Slobodan Lalovic has said that the parliamentary committee on labour and the government have accepted an amendment to the Pension Law envisioning the indexation of pensions twice a year.

Lalovic told reporters at the parliament today that the original bill envisaged indexation once a year and he added that the issue of an amendment requiring that the average pension check must not be lower than 60 percent of the average monthly salary will remain open until the day it is voted on.
He explained that the committee on labour adopted an amendment that envisages this ratio between pensions and wages but limited its validity to three years.
According to Lalovic, it remains unclear whether the solution will be approved by lawmakers in the parliament.
