Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali talked today with Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Serbia Chen Bo about joint infrastructure projects between the two countries, as well as plans for future cooperation.
Mali expressed gratitude to the Ambassador for the help and support that the People's Republic of China has provided to the Republic of Serbia since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, and pointed out that true friends are seen at the most difficult moments.
They agreed that the current cooperation between Serbia and China has been very successful and intensive, especially when it comes to cooperation with Chinese companies engaged in infrastructure works in our country and the Chinese Export-Import Bank, with which credit arrangements have been concluded for several important infrastructure projects.
This includes projects for the construction of the bridge Zemun-Borca with access roads, the section of the highway Obrenovac-Ljig, the section of the highway Surcin-Obrenovac and the first phase of the project package of TPP Kostolac-B.
When it comes to ongoing projects, these are the second phase of the project package of TPP Kostolac-B, section of the highway Preljina-Pozega, construction of a bypass around Belgrade – section of the bridge over the river Sava near Ostruznica-Bubanj Potok.
The Minister of Finance pointed out that the construction of infrastructure is one of the most important priorities of this government, and that these activities will continue next year, in order for the citizens of Serbia to have better living conditions.
He added that, in that context, the project of building a subway, in which the Chinese and French sides are currently participating, is of crucial importance for a better life for the people of Belgrade.
The officials agreed that it is important that all projects continue in full capacity in the coming period, which will greatly contribute to the economic growth of Serbia, according to a statement from the Ministry of Finance.
