Prime Minister Ana Brnabic attended today the presentation of a new City of Belgrade service that was created by the integration of BusPlus and the eGovernment information system, which will bring significant savings in time and money for citizens.
Brnabic said that this is a new electronic service in a series of other services of this type that the Serbian government has offered in the previous few years.
She said that in the next two months the Serbian government will, on behalf of the Office for IT and eGovernment, make a call to all the cities in the country to join the Smart Cities project.
This means that the citizens will have the possibility to use information technologies and modern tools in order to obtain all the information on what is happening in the city.
This will be done in 27 cities, Brnabic explained and pointed out that in 2019 the total export of IT services stood at €1.420 billion.
When you compare this to the amount from 2016, which was actually a successful year and Serbia was then recognised as a country with a big IT potential, you will see that this export doubled in 2019, Brnabic pointed out.
In addition to the Prime Minister, new electronic services for Belgrade citizens were presented by Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment Mihailo Jovanovic and Deputy Mayor Goran Vesic.
Thanks to the electronic connection of the Belgrade Public Transport Secretariat with the eGovernment system (databases of the National Employment Service, Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, Ministry of the Interior and the Central Register of Compulsory Social Security), pensioners and unemployed persons will no longer have to bring paper certificates for validating or extending their transport cards.
Namely, thanks to the electronic exchange of information in line of duty, it is enough for citizens to come to the BusPlus counter only once with an ID card, and then the system will automatically check the status of these citizens every month and extend the validity of the cards for transportation.
Jovanovic introduced another service for all Belgrade residents and visitors. Belgrade city lines are available on Google Maps since recently as well as all the data on city lines, timetables, bus stops, routes and ticket prices, and in the next period the plan is to include the BG train lines as well as night lines and minibus express lines on these maps.
