Prime Minister Ana Brnabic attended the evaluation of Serbian wines today as part of the "St. Trifun on Savski Venac" event, organized for the first time by the Association of Serbian Winemakers and Vine Growers.
Opening this event, Brnabic announced that by the end of this month the Strategy for the Development of Wine and Viticulture from 2020 to 2030 will be adopted.
It is the first time to come up with a 10-year strategy that will pave the way for how we can develop this sector and how to support it to have the highest quality crafts and wines, said Brnabic.
According to Brnabic, this strategy will help to present Serbia and Serbian wines as well as possible in the world.
The Association of Serbian Winemakers and Vine Growers established 12 Serbian winemaker associations last year and set it up as the umbrella institution between the Serbian government and winemakers.
For the first time in Serbia, the evaluation will be done electronically, using an application made specifically for this event, thus avoiding any type of irregularities.
111 wineries from Serbia have applied for wine evaluation at the Radisson Collection Hotel, so 295 wines that are grouped in these eight categories will be evaluated.
Each wine is assigned a code and the wine will be presented in wine glasses to 32 evaluators.
The evaluators are the best Serbian oenologists, technologists, sommeliers and professors.
