Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic said that the latest polls show that if a referendum were held today with the question "Do you support Serbia's EU membership?", 54 percent of our country's citizens would answer yes.
Joksimovic said that the results of the latest opinion poll "European Orientation of Serbian Citizens," conducted by the Ministry of European Integration, also showed that 24 percent of citizens would vote against, 12 percent would not vote, and 10 percent do not know what they would answer.
The survey was conducted according to the Eurobarometer standard and it included 1,050 respondents older than 18, the Minister said.
According to her, the latest data show that the trend of stable support of our citizens to the European integration process of over 50% continues, since the answers to a similar question were almost identical in the previous two years.
She added that the benefits that the citizens, local communities and the state as a whole have from these projects are visible and contribute significantly to a better quality of daily life.
Official figures show that from 2000 until the end of 2016, the EU and its Member States were the largest donors to Serbia with € 4.31 billion in grants, thus contributing significantly to Serbia's development.
