Minister for European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic and UN Resident Coordinator in our country Francoise Jacob, met with representatives of the United Nations team in Serbia, consisting of 19 UN development agencies, programmes and funds.
They discussed models for future cooperation, specifically in the context of planning a new programming phase for the period 2021 to 2025.
Cooperation priorities have been defined and opinions exchanged on national priorities, effective cooperation and coordination between the UN team in Serbia and the government of the Republic of Serbia in the forthcoming programming phase.
Joksimovic pointed out that in drafting the document "Priorities for International Aid for 2025", which will be adopted by the government of Serbia in the first quarter of 2020, the Ministry for European Integration took into account the Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals and defined measures for achieving them.
Jacob noted that the Framework for Cooperation with the government of the Republic of Serbia for the period 2021 to 2025 belongs to the first generation of UN strategic development plans after the entry into force of the UN Development System Reform in 2019.
Future cooperation projects include activities aimed at the implementation of development projects important for the promotion and promotion of sustainable and socio-economic development of the Republic of Serbia, which is closely linked to the progress in Serbia's EU accession process.
