Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated today during a visit to the control building and the installations at the wastewater treatment plant in Raska that the government will continue with environmental improvement and protection projects.
Brnabic, accompanied by Minister of Environmental Protection Goran Trivan, Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Sem Fabrizi and President of the Raska municipality Ignjat Rakitic, was informed about the work of the plant, which was financed from the pre-accession 2013 EU-IPA funds.
She underlined that the government systemically plans the projects for the protection and improvement of the environment, as seen by the project in Raska, and added that one of the focuses is wastewater treatment so that we could keep rivers for the generations to come.
The Prime Minister thanked EU partners for the funds invested and recalled that the co-financing of Serbia amounted to 10% in the field of infrastructure works and 18% in equipment.
According to her, this project is more than €6 million worth and is very important for environmental protection not only of that city, but also of the whole West Morava basin.
After that, the Prime Minister attended the opening of “Youth Self-Service” in Raska, whose aim is to help young people find a job more quickly and easily.
“Youth Self-Service” will provide all young people who are not still in school or studying with all the necessary information on the job possibilities available.
The €4.7 million project is financed by the EU and co-financed by the Serbian government.
