Prime Minister Ana Brnabic today attended a ceremony marking the inauguration of a programme for development in the field of artificial intelligence and a programme of cooperation between Serbian science and the diaspora.
During her visit to the Science Fund, Brnabic pointed out that the Draft Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence has been completed and that a public debate starts today, noting that Serbia will adopt the said document by the end of the year.
By doing so, we will become one of the twenty countries that have an AI strategy in the world. This does not mean that we will only be leaders in the region, but also outside the region, in Central and Eastern Europe, she said.
Serbia will immediately start implementing the strategy, said the Prime Minister, adding that our country's potential in this area is already recognised in the world.
Serbia is more and more recognised as a country that has much to offer the world in innovation – the fourth industrial revolution, digitalisation, science, education, Brnabic concluded.
She also noted that it is important that an invitation for cooperation with the diaspora will be announced as this is the way to create close ties and cooperate with the diaspora in a concrete way.
Director of the Science Fund Milica Djuric Ljubicic said that 623 international experts are doing the evaluation of projects that will be granted funds.
She added that the programme for development in the field of artificial intelligence will be opened until 31 January, while the programme for cooperation with the diaspora will be opened until funds are spent.
