Minister of Economy Goran Knezevic and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto co-chaired today the 10th session of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation between Serbia and Hungary in Budapest.
After the session, Knezevic and Szijjarto signed a Protocol on further strengthening the two countries' overall relations.
On this occasion, the Directors of the Accreditation Body of Serbia and the Hungarian National Accreditation Body signed the Action Plan for 2020 on the future cooperation of these institutions.
Knezevic said that he had reached an agreement with Szijjarto on opening a representative office of the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency in Serbia, which would contribute to linking national economies and strengthening the overall economic relations of the two countries.
The Minister estimated that relations between Serbia and Hungary have never been better and that they are at the highest historical level, expressing the expectation that this year the value of foreign trade between the two countries will exceed €2 billion, and that it will continue to grow.
Serbia is Hungary's most important partner in the Western Balkans, and significant investments are being made between the two countries. We want to further accelerate traffic at the border crossings with Serbia, said Szijjarto.
