Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali announced today that Serbia has been removed from the European list of jurisdictions that do not cooperate in tax matters, the so-called European "gray list of tax havens".
Mali pointed out that Serbia had fulfilled its obligations, ahead of the deadline, in the field of international tax cooperation and transparency in the exchange of tax information, in order to comply with the principles of good tax management of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the European Union (EU).
The explanation, published by the Council of Ministers of the EU, written on the basis of an OECD assessment and recommendation, states that Serbia has been removed from the list and it recalls that in July 2019 our country signed the Convention on Multilateral Administrative Cooperation (MAC), which was later confirmed by the Serbian Parliament, the Minister said.
According to him, the OECD and the EU have indicated that Serbia, along with a large number of other states and jurisdictions, is on the right track in the international fight against tax evasion.
