Prime Minister Ana Brnabic visited today the reconstruction and the construction works of the Clinical Centre of Serbia, expressing satisfaction with their dynamics as they are taking place even faster than planned.
Brnabic expressed gratitude to the workers working at the Clinical Centre regardless of the weather conditions, and stressed that this project is of national importance.
The sooner we finish it, the citizens will have a better health service, which is one of the goals of the government of Serbia, said the Prime Minister, adding that, apart from employment, health and education are the top priorities of this government.
She pointed out that in the last years there has been improvement in the field of health, and noted that the focus was on infrastructure and equipment, specialisation and additional education of medical personnel, as well as on the increase of salaries.
According to Brnabic, improving conditions started from Nis, where the first Clinical Centre was built.
She noted that the European Investment Bank (EIB) gave a green light also for the Clinical Centre of Vojvodina.
The Prime Minister explained that the work at the healthcare institution is expected in January or February, adding that together with the EIB, the project documentation for the Clinical Centre Kragujevac is being prepared.
Minister of Health Zlatibor Loncar pointed out that the Clinical Centre of Serbia will provide 930 new beds in semi-intensive care, 200 in intensive care, 30 operating rooms and 70 beds in a daily hospital.
Prime Minister of Vojvodina Igor Mirovic and Felisitis Ridl from the European Investment Bank (EIB) attended the visit.
Ridl said she was impressed by the progress in the works.
Reconstruction and upgrading of the central facility includes building a total area of approximately 134,000 square metres and construction of technical blocks A1, B, E and D.
