Okolisanov told a press conference that during the five months of the campaign 4,800 new companies were registered, with 100 reservations of company names, around 8,000 requests for registration of changes processed as well as 2,000 other applications including certificates of receivership or liquidation.
He repeated that the aim of the campaign was to establish the exact number of companies operating on the territory of Serbia and he added that those who re-registered from commercial courts to the Corporate Register will be filed in a single national database.
Okolisanov said that all legal deadlines were met during the process of re-registration and that in the next three or four months all the data on companies that have applied will be entered in the Register and they will receive formal decisions.
He said that in the meantime the companies can do business as usual or, if need be, request a re-registration certificate from the Agency.
He expressed gratitude to the Serbian government, the Ministry of Economy and foreign donors including the Swedish government, the World Bank, Microsoft Serbia-Montenegro, and the US Agency for International Development (USAID), who all made the implementation of the campaign possible through technical assistance and expertise.
