Serbia signs several bilateral agreements with Cyprus

Belgrade/Nicosia, 30 November 2018

In the presence of President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades, the relevant members of the governments of the two countries signed several bilateral agreements in Nicosia today.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus on cooperation and bilateral political consultations.

Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of European Integration of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus on cooperation in the field of European Integration.

Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Mladen Sarcevic and Minister of Education and Culture of Cyprus Kostas Champiaouris signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Cyprus on cooperation in the field of education for the period 2019-2022.

Also, Sarcevic and Champiaouris signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Cyprus on cooperation in the field of sport.

Dacic and Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Advisor to the President of Cyprus Fotis Foti signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia and the Office of the Commissioner in the Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus on Diaspora Cooperation.

Bilateral agreements were signed after the second joint session of the governments of the two countries, which was held today, five years after it was first organised in Serbia.
