Miroljub Labus
According to a statement from the government, this means that Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus has never said that the privatisation of EPS is in plans, as has been reported in today’s newspapers.
As regards the incorrect allegations that the Serbian government has rejected the World Bank’s proposal for a privatisation adviser for EPS, the government is pointing out that it has never received such a proposal.
The cooperation between the Serbian government and the World Bank is very good, and last week’s agreement on a $24 million loan for raising Serbia’s energy efficiency is proof of that, according to the statement.
The agreed loan from the World Bank is part of a regional programme to create an energy market in southeast European.
Along with other public sector enterprises, EPS is undergoing a restructuring process, which involves the divesting of non-core activities, but the government has not yet discussed its privatisation, reads the statement.
