The Serbian Ministry of International Economic Relations pointed out that this company, which uses funds of the Dutch PSO programme, is the result of joint investments of the famous shoe manufacturer Schoenfabriek Wed. J.P. van Bommel BV and the local firm Premiks.
The Dutch government’s PSO programmes for financing projects in southeast European countries are aimed at establishing and promoting cooperation between companies from the Netherlands and the beneficiary countries.
After the signing of the framework memorandum in 2001, the realisation of the PSO programme is defined through memoranda on understanding signed each year between the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Serbian Ministry of International Economic Relations, which acts as the Serbian government’s programme coordinator.
The memoranda on understanding define the financing conditions. Dutch companies submit projects created in cooperation with Serbian companies/partners to the Dutch EVD Agency, which evaluates and selects projects based on publicly announced criteria.
The PSO programme represents an important investment stimulus and contributes to the transfer of knowledge, experience and modern technology, contributing to Serbian companies fully developing their potentials and securing their position on the local as well as foreign market.
In the last four years through the PSO programme, the Dutch government has supported the modernisation and improvement of production in 28 companies in Serbia, with an overall aid of about €16 million in the form of equipment, but also extending to knowledge and expertise.
