An additional inspection was carried out in Subotica, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Nis, and Kraljevo, the ministry said in a statement and added that criminal charges would be brought against the shopkeepers who had failed to pay customs duties on imported mobile phones.
The ministry recalled that import duty evasion reduces the state’s budgetary revenues, while at the same time, people are buying products of suspicious origin and questionable quality. The ministry added that it was determined to implement the TR 84 plan and crack down on smuggling in Serbia.
