Speaking at the panel discussion "Visioning Serbia in the future: how the European road and Agenda 2030 are networking", held within the framework of the conference "Serbia 2030: Facts and Options", Joksimovic pointed out that European integration has clearly set the development vision of our country.
Also, she pointed out that the negotiations through a total of 35 chapters include all 17 goals of sustainable development.
Joksimovic announced that a voluntary national report to the UN will be prepared for the next year - which will be presented by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and which shows Serbia's willingness to pursue goals and cooperation on these issues.
European integration is the process that gives us the framework for achieving the goals of sustainable development and I believe that through the negotiations so far and the opening of the chapters, we have entered deep the process of creating a better life for the citizens of Serbia, the Minister said.
Joksimovic explained that this means everything that citizens listed as their expectations from the EU integration: a higher standard of living, fight against corruption, reform of the health system, the development of agriculture, protection of the environment, and the availability of all those things that enable a dignified life.
Joksimovic recalled that in 2012, 2014, and in particular in 2016 Serbia prepared a comprehensive reform programme, which was presented by the then Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.
According to Joksimovic, in the keynote address of the then Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, a comprehensive reform programme of an inventive bold development vision of the future was prepared through a series of reform policies and through a horizontal negotiation process with the EU, supported by EU pre-accession funds and the preparation for cohesion funds through Chapter 22.
