Chinese company building tyre factory in Zrenjanin

Minister of Economy Goran Knezevic and General Manager at Shandong Linglong Rubber Co.,Ltd. Feng Wang signed today, in the presence of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, an agreement on construction of a rubber factory in Zrenjanin.

The city provided 136 hectares of land for the construction of a plant in Zrenjanin, where 1,500 workers will be employed.
The Chinese company will invest $994.4 million in the new factory, and will produce more than 13 million tyres a year.
After signing the agreement, Vucic said that this would restore life and hope for the Banat region, to be rich, and that Serbia will continue to make progress.
The President of Serbia reminded that Poland and the Czech Republic were in the race for the Chinese investment, but in the end, Serbia managed to attract Chinese investors.
He pointed out that a large number of suppliers, companies that cooperate with Shandong Linglong Rubber Co.,Ltd. will come with this company, and one of them is a zinc-producing company, whose representative attended the event today.
Vucic said that the director of the Chinese company promised that at least three other Chinese companies will come to Serbia.
Ambassador of China in Serbia Li Manchang expressed his gratitude to the President of Serbia for his commitment to the progress of the country, without which there would be no agreement today on the construction of a tyre factory in Zrenjanin.
Manchang confirmed that there will be more Chinese investments in Serbia.
Shandong Linglong Rubber Co.,Ltd. earlier announced that in April 2019 it plans to officially start the construction of the factory, which will take place in three phases, with the final phase being completed in March 2025.
