Serbia key of stability in region

Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic met today with Foreign Minister of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn, who voiced support to Serbia to accelerate its EU accession process.

After the meeting in Luxembourg, Joksimovic conveyed Asselborn’s message that Serbia is the key to stability in the region.
Also, she added that Asselborn showed that she is a true friend of the enlargement of the European Union, a good connoisseur of opportunities in the region and a friend of Serbia.
Joksimovic said that she and Asselborn discussed reforms in Serbia, progress in the rule of law, economic stability in the country and the situation in the region.
Luxembourg, like all other countries, keeps track of what is happening in the region, is essentially interested in the stability of the region, and believes that Serbia is a key country that, with its strength, responsibility and capacities, is an anchor of stability in the region, Joksimovic said.
During the meeting, Joksimovic underlined that partnership of all other countries in the region is also important and that Serbia alone cannot produce stability without response from the other side.
She also highlighted the important role of the Union in this process, which must be more deeply and objectively involved in the entire process.
Joksimovic said that she requested and received support from Luxembourg to speed up the EU accession process.
Joksimovic said that both Asselborn and Luxembourg were always very positive when it comes to Serbia and its EU accession process.
