Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic said today that security in the region and secure supply with all key energy products is a common goal of our country, Hungary and Bulgaria, about which he talked today with officials of these countries.
Antic told reporters that he had a series of bilateral and joint meetings with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto and Bulgarian Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova , discussing joint activities for the construction of additional gas transportation facilities and the possibilities of joining the Turkish Stream.
We agreed to have far stronger coordination in terms of developing new energy projects in the upcoming period, which will lead to a greater energy stability of the region and that our energy national sovereignties be defined in the context of mutual cooperation, the Minister said.
Szijjarto emphasized that energy security is essential in this part of Europe and that therefore routes and sources of supply need to be diversified.
Petkova stressed that the three countries have united about this possibility and that the talks on cooperation will continue, in order to achieve the best possible results for the consumers of all three countries.
