President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended today in Ankara the signing of several agreements on cooperation between the two countries in the fields of security, transport, IT, energy, veterinary and environmental protection.
Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic signed the Protocol in the field of scientific cooperation between the Criminal Police Academy of Serbia and the National Police Academy of Turkey.
The protocol is concluded in order to establish cooperation between the two academies and is based on long-term mutual interests in order to improve and expand the existing educational, scientific, research and business activities of both institutions.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic signed the Memorandum of Cooperation and Understanding in research and development activities in the areas of transport.
On the first day of the Serbian delegation’s visit to Istanbul, Mihajlovic also signed at the Turkish-Serbian business forum
the Memorandum of Cooperation with Turkish construction company Tashjapi, which refers to the development of a project for the construction of the Belgrade-Sarajevo motorway and the upgrade of regional roads in Sandzak.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic signed the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in research and development activities in information and communication technologies.
Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic signed with Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak the Memorandum of understanding in the cooperation of two ministries in the fields of renewable energy and natural gas.
Ministers Albayrak and Antic also discussed the possibilities for improving relations and defined as a priority the cooperation in the field of gas supply, the use of renewable energy sources and the improvement of energy efficiency.
On that occasion, they agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding defining a series of concrete joint activities and a way of coordinating further cooperation, primarily on the realisation of gas connection projects, taking into account the fact that Turkey is becoming a key gas hub for the needs of Southeast Europe.
Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Branislav Nedimovic signed the Agreement between the Government of Serbia and Turkey on cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine.
This agreement regulates issues of importance for cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine, such as trade in animals and products of animal origin and the exchange of certificates for the import and transport of products of animal origin.
The Memorandum of Understanding in the field of environmental protection was also signed, with the aim of investing joint efforts in order to promote and achieve the development goals agreed at the international level, to reduce pollution and to ensure environmental sustainability with a balanced approach to the protection and use of ecosystems.
The two sides will cooperate through exchange of knowledge, experience and best practices and technologies.
