Cooperation of Serbia, Romania in fight against malign tumours

Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic pointed out today in Pozarevac to the importance and advantages of using available funds from the EU in order to finance projects related to improving the population health in Serbia.

Together with Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar, Joksimovic attended in the General Hospital in Pozarevac the beginning of implementation of the project of cross-border cooperation between Romania and Serbia called "Joint Initiative of Serbia and Romania in Fighting Cancer in the Border Region".
She explained that that is a joint initiative of Serbia and Romania in the fight against cancer in the border region, whose main goal is to address one of the major health challenges - the fight against cancer.
Loncar pointed out that the effects of this project will be felt only in three years, when the capacities in the hospital in Pozarevac are opened and there will be equipment, as well as when we have new young doctors who have already started their speciality courses.
The hospital in Pozarevac will have a control mechanism that will network the system in Serbia and Romania, and it will be possible to check what the results will be, which will be an incentive to work even better.
