The Office for Information Technology and e-Government of the Serbian government won a prestigious world award for the contribution to the development of information society, which is granted by the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).
Office Director Mihailo Jovanovic received the award "Creating a Good Environment for the Development of Information Society" in Geneva today, at the headquarters of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) at the United Nations.
According to him, the leaders at the World Summit, as well as all those who voted for Serbia, recognised the establishment of the Office for Information Technology and e-Government and the results achieved in the field of electronic administration as one of the key factors for the development of the information society and digitisation in Serbia.
The Serbian government’s office won in a competition from a total of 685 registered and 492 nominated projects of government institutions, companies and civil society organisations from all over the world.
