Members of the IMF delegation, representatives of the EBRD and the World Bank estimated that the Serbian government has made great efforts for financial consolidation and successful implementation of the previous arrangement.
They jointly defined instruments with which these international institutions will continue monitoring the energy sector of Serbia.
Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic noted that the situation in the energy sector is incomparably better, compared to the period when the previous precautionary arrangement with the IMF was started.
I would especially like to point out that the energy sector is financially consolidated and that such a trend should be a motive for us to continue putting order in public companies, Antic underlined, adding that for the first time all companies in the energy sector operate positively and make profits.
The meeting with the IMF delegation was also attended by State Secretary of the Ministry of Mining and Energy Mirjana Filipovic, State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Nenad Mijailovic, Acting General Manager of public company Electric Power Industry of Serbia (EPS) Milorad Grcic, Director General of public gas company Srbijagas Dusan Bajatovic and his associates, according to a statement from the Ministry of Mining and Energy.
