The fourth joint session of the governments of Serbia and Hungary was held today in Budapest and it focused on the projects launched, regional cooperation and improvement of the overall relations of the two countries.
At the session, nine interstate agreements in different areas were signed and one agreement in the private sector.
Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Nebojsa Stefanovic and Hungarian Minister of the Interior Sandor Pinter signed Amendments to the Agreement on joint border control in road, water and rail transport.
The Agreement on economic and technical cooperation in the field of infrastructure projects was signed by Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic and Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Peter Szijjarto.
The Annual Work Plan for 2018, which is an annex to the Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of Serbia and Hungary on expert assistance for EU accession negotiations, was signed by Serbian Minister of European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic and Peter Szijjarto.
Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Branislav Nedimovic signed two agreements, namely the Letter of intent on agroprocessing cooperation with his Hungarian counterpart Sandor Fazekas, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding in the area of consumer protection and market surveillance with the Hungarian Minister of National Development Miklos Sesztak.
The Agreement in the field of science and education was also signed, and Serbian Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Mladen Sarcevic and Peter Szijjarto signed the Programme of Cooperation in the field of education, science and culture between the two governments for the period 2018-2020 and the Work Plan of the Programme of education, cultural and scientific cooperation for 2018-2020.
Minister of National Economy of Hungary Mihaly Varga and Minister of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs Zoran Djordjevic signed the Memorandum on cooperation in the field of employment between the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veterans and Social Affairs of Serbia and the Hungarian Ministry of National Economy.
In the area of defence, a Memorandum of Understanding between the two ministries on cooperation in the field of creating military maps and the exchange of materials and data for the development of military maps was signed by Hungarian Defence Minister Istvan Simicsko and State Secretary at the Serbian Ministry of Defence Aleksandar Zivkovic.
President of the Hungarian State Treasury Jozsef Meszaros and Assistant Director of the Treasury of Serbia Sasa Celic signed the Agreement on Cooperation of the Treasury of the two countries.
In addition to interstate agreements, an agreement was signed in the private sector, a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a joint venture company in Arilje.
The Memorandum, which regulates the establishment of a joint Hungarian-Serbian company for the raspberry growing and processing in Arilje was signed by Melinda Totmarton from Hungary’s “Horizon Fund” and Milan Stanic from Serbia, owner of “Milan Stanic doo”.
