In his closing address at the 3rd meeting of the EBRD Board of Governors, Lemierre welcomed the stance of the majority of governors who have supported the EBRD focus on the South and Southeast of Europe in the past few years.
According to him, improved instruments and work methods at the bank will help the EBRD to post good results next year as well.
Recalling that ten countries were admitted to the European Union last year, Lemierre pointed out that the EBRD’s efforts and role in helping these countries to join the EU were obvious.
He said that the EBRD will continue to develop credit funds, connect the public and private sectors, and assist countries in transition in developing social dialogue in the restructuring process.
Lemierre thanked the hosts of the EBRD Annual Meeting, Serbia-Montenegro’s and Belgrade’s authorities, adding that the gathering was very well organised.
