The new text of the agreement envisages for the first time a duty free export of 5,000 tons of beef per year from Serbia to Turkey.
The Serbian producers, also for the first time, will be able to export definite quotas of raw and refined sunflower oil, sunflower seeds and certain types of bakery products to Turkey duty free.
The Agreement prescribes two times higher quotas for duty free export from Serbia to Turkey of certain kinds of frozen vegetables and prunes.
On the other hand, Serbia has allowed duty free import from Turkey of definite quotas of pomegranate, strawberries, aubergine, zucchini, table and dry grapes, and the quotas of certain food products, which have already been under a free trade arrangement between the two countries until now.
For the first time, the Agreement also defines free trade in services (finance, transport, telecommunications, co-production, etc.), which will significantly contribute to the improvement of the investment climate and a greater arrival of Turkish investors in Serbia, while at the same time it will open to our companies the services market in Turkey.
The new free trade agreement should be signed during the official visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Serbia on 10-11 October this year, according to a statement by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications.
