After the bilateral meeting, Nedimovic and Fakibaba opened the agro-forum Serbia-Turkey, which is attended by more than 150 representatives of Turkish agricultural firms, as well as sales chains as potential purchasers of Serbian products.
Nedimovic told reporters ahead of the panel "The future of cooperation in the field of agriculture and food industry of Serbia and Turkey", that he and his Turkish counterpart discussed the export of beef and refined and raw sunflower oil from Serbia.
The reason for this forum are investments in the food industry. Serbia is open to investments from Turkey, because we need investments in food and agriculture, said the Minister.
He added that Serbia can serve as a platform for Turkey to join the EU and Russia, while Turkey connects Serbia to Asia and the Middle East.
Fakibaba said that Serbia is an important state for peace and cooperation and a great friend of Turkey, saying that Serbian investors are welcome in that country.
We have many areas in which we can cooperate. We want to improve imports and exports and we need to work hard to reach a billion dollars of exports, he said.
