Improving cooperation with Israel in field of defence

Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin and Israeli Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman stated at today's meeting in Tel Aviv that the level of established political relations between the two countries provides an excellent basis for enhancing cooperation in the field of defence.

Vulin and Lieberman agreed that additional reasons for improving relations are strong historical link and the common victims and the suffering of the two peoples.
Also, the officials agreed on the necessity of regular meetings at the highest level with the aim of exchanging views on current issues and opening new forms of cooperation, bearing in mind that this is the first meeting of defence ministers of the two countries as part of the exchange of visits since 2003.
Vulin stressed that Serbia attaches great importance to bilateral defence cooperation with Israel, which is confirmed by this meeting because this is his first official visit abroad since taking office as Minister of Defence.
At the end of today's meeting in Tel Aviv, Vulin called on Lieberman to visit Serbia next year, according to a statement from the Ministry of Defence.
