Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Mladen Sarcevic said that today Serbia has become a partner in the Enterprise Innovation Fund, which opens the door for the progress of our small and medium-sized enterprises, which will in turn accelerate the development of the entire Serbia and the region.
At a gathering held at the Scientific and Technology Park in Belgrade, Sarcevic said that it is very important that science and education be in the function of innovation and a competitive development of a country.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development has allocated funds in the amount of RSD 21.5 million to enable Serbia to join the Enterprise Innovation Fund in the capacity of investor.
Minister of Economy Goran Knezevic pointed out that through this fund, our technology companies in the early stage of development will be able to use the funds in the amount of €41 million, just like companies from other countries of the Western Balkans, for the development and successful placement of new innovative products, services and processes.
Knezevic added that only with the knowledge will we be able to catch up with the modern world, to move from a traditional economy to a knowledge-based and knowledge-guided economy.
The aim of the programme is to encourage and promote the emergence of new and the development of existing innovative enterprises with a high potential for growth, as well as the emergence of a regional risk capital market.
