Stefanovic and Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Aleksandar Vulin and Commissioner for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia Vladimir Cucic visited the barracks where the migrants were staying and which are now in the phase of demolition.
He said that this area, which was inhabited in an uncontrolled manner despite the fact that it was unsafe and inadequate for accommodation, was the meeting place for smugglers who were trying to reach migrants.
We spoke to migrants many times and invested enormous effort that they relocate to the reception centres that the state provided for them, to remove them form unhygienic areas and do everything that they have normal humane conditions, Stefanovic said.

Vulin stated that Belgrade is the only capital in Europe that had this problem and resolved it without violence, conflict, use of force and tear gas.
He stressed that the Serbian government has shown that it will respect the law, take care of all people, of the dignity of every person who is present in its territory, but that it will also protect its population.
