Importance of promotion of Serbia through film industry

Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic met today with Italian actress Monica Bellucci who is on a visit to Belgrade as a guest of the International film festival - FEST 2017.
The meeting was also attended by director Emir Kusturica and Italian Ambassador to Serbia Giuseppe Manzo.
Prime Minister Vucic thanked Monica Bellucci on doing a lot for the promotion of Serbia and Serbian culture through her work on film and on the projects she did with Kusturica in this region.
For me it is very important to work with directors from other countries and to learn about other cultures. In this movie I even act in the Serbian language and that is an incredible experience that I acquired in your country, Bellucci underlined.

Vucic stressed the importance of promoting Serbia through the film industry and said that the Serbian government will continue to give incentives for film projects so that more movies, both foreign and domestic, could have good conditions for shooting and post-production in Serbia.

During the meeting, Italian Ambassador Giuseppe Manzo presented director Emir Kusturica with the Order of the Star of Italy, which is conferred by the President of the Republic of Italy.
According to the explanation for the conferring of the order, “Kusturica is connected with the culture of our country and considers the Italian film his role model. He named streets and places in Drvengrad after leading figures from our cinema, first of all Fellini, whereas Italian movies always occupy an important place in the programme of his festival Kustendorf“.
