"Bank of China" begins operations in Serbia

President of the Republic of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic said today that with the arrival of the "Bank of China" we expect an exponential growth of investments in Serbia, because this bank began financing the steelworks in Smederevo.

At a ceremony at the Palace of Serbia, he said that Belgrade will be the headquarters for the Balkans and Eastern and Western Europe, noting that Hesteel will help the Smederevo plant to successfully operate.
The President wished the "Bank of China" to operate successfully at the regional level, since its development is guarantee of the development of Serbia.

The Serbian President said that "Bank of China" is already active in the region, noting that from today it will coordinate the activities in this part of Europe, i.e., in Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro and Albania.
The ceremony was also attended by Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojkovic, government ministers as well as Chinese Ambassador to Serbia Li Mancang.
