Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic and Head of the EULEX mission in Kosovo-Metohija Alexandra Papadopoulou assessed today that the cooperation in the previous period has been constructive, but also that there is room for improvement.
Stefanovic expressed concern about the threat to fundamental rights and freedoms of Serbs in the territory of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija, and stressed that he expects the support of EULEX in all situations in which the safety and security of the Serbian community are in danger.
Papadopoulou said that EULEX will continue to perform its advisory and investigative functions, in order to provide greater security for all citizens, and that, in this regard, special attention will be paid to the protection of private property.
Stefanovic stressed the necessity of cooperation in order to prosecute all organised criminal groups operating on both sides of the administrative line.
