Minister without portfolio responsible for European integration Jadranka Joksimovic met today with UN Resident Coordinator in Serbia Irena Vojackova-Solorano to speak on the EU accession process, implementing reforms and future directions of UN assistance.
Joksimovic and Vojackova-Solorano pointed out the importance of continuing the process of implementation of structural reforms as a precondition for the progress of society and overcoming the structural problems that have for years been an aggravating factor in the development.
Joksimovic said that the current cooperation with the agencies of the United Nations is intense, effective and of great importance for our country.
During the meeting they also focused on forms of technical assistance of the UN in areas that are important for achieving the long-term goals that are primarily related to the EU accession process and the implementation of reforms.
In particular, they emphasised the importance of the framework of the development partnership between the government of Serbia and the UN team as well as the importance of help when it comes to social development and human resource development and environmental protection, especially at the local level.
