Participating in the conference "EU and Serbia – 15 years of partnership", Joksimovic said that it is clear that Serbia is committed to a strategic entry into the EU, adding that the task of this government is to explain to the citizens which benefits the membership would bring, especially at local and regional level.
She said that they capacities must be strengthened at local level in order to make better use of EU funds, and reiterated that Serbia and the EU have a common interest, and that is our country's membership in the Union.
Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport said that Serbia's entry into the European Union is a common goal, and that it is no longer a distant dream, but a reality that is approaching day by day.
Davenport recalled that four negotiation chapters have been opened and that progress on other chapters in the shortest time is expected too.
