In a joint press conference with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto, Joksimovic pointed out that cooperation and good relations with neighbouring Hungary are important.
She expressed hope that Serbia will until the end of the year will open more chapters, noting that it is not a good moment to slow our country towards the EU.
Our country understand European integration as part of internal development policy, and membership in the EU would be the crown of this important project, she underlined.
Regional stability is important for all of us, but also for the EU, especially in the context of the migrant crisis, she said, and added that Serbia’s clear interests are peace, stability and progress.
Szijjarto said that Hungary supports the EU integration of Serbia and urged the EU institutions to complete the country's accession negotiations by 2020, pointing out that intentions by any EU institution or member state to slow down the process are unacceptable.
