US support to reforms, European integration of Serbia

Minister without portfolio responsible for European integration Jadranka Joksimovic met today with US Ambassador in Serbia Kyle Scott to discuss the next steps in the negotiation process after the opening of chapters 23 and 24.
They highlighted the importance of opening the aforementioned chapters, which are important not only for the country's European integration, but also for the reform process carried out by the government.
They assessed that these two processes are inseparable, that will enter a new, more dynamic phase.
Joksimovic stressed that the new government will remain committed to European integration, adding that it is important to continue to evaluate progress on the basis of achieved results and fulfilled criteria.
She noted that the new government will continue to invest maximum efforts in making positive results visible, so that the citizens feel concrete benefits.
Scott expressed US support to the process of European integration of Serbia, and stressed the importance of its membership in the European Union.
He praised Serbia in terms of regional cooperation, as well as over the current migrant crisis.
