International cooperation crucial for fight against terrorism

Minister of the Interior Nebojsa Stefanovic spoke today with Federal Prosecutor of the Kingdom of Belgium Frederic Van Leeuv about threats from terrorism and about ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in order to confront this challenge more effectively.
At the meeting, which was also attended by Serbian Public Prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac, Stefanovic informed his interlocutor about the steps that Serbia is taking when it comes to fighting terrorism.
The Minister said that all security services in Serbia are closely monitoring developments outside our borders, as well as all those people who return from the battlefield in other countries, primarily from Syria and Iraq.
He stated that several persons had been identified who participated in the activities of radicalisation and recruitment of people to join terrorist organisations and fight in other countries, and that the Prosecutor’s Office of Serbia pressed charges against them.
