State will not tolerate illegal camps for migrants

Minister for Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Aleksandar Vulin and Head of the UNHCR office in Serbia Hans Friedrich Schodder visited today a makeshift camp at the border with Hungary that the migrants made by themselves.

Migrants are located in the area between Serbian border crossing Horgos 1 and Hungarian border crossing Roszke, with the intention to seek asylum in Europe.
After visiting these locations, Vulin pointed out that the Serbian government will help find a solution, which includes the possibility of accommodation in our reception facilities, where they have at their disposal everything necessary for a dignified human life.
He said that the migrants will be clearly explained what they can expect in the territory of the Republic of Serbia and what are the centres for accomodation like.
Schodder said that the living conditions in the makeshift camp, where there are more than 300 people, are inadequate and poor.
He expressed the hope that an agreement will be made with representatives of the Hungarian authorities in order to find adequate solutions for the afflicted.
State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior Milosav Milickovic said that the ministry is doing everything to facilitate the current illegal stay in a makeshift camp at the border crossing Horgos 1 to these people.
The Ministry of the Interior is faced with illegal routes, which is another security risk to our country, he warned and announced that there will be an increased presence of our forces on the Serbian-Bulgarian and the Serbian-Macedonian border, to prevent the illegal entry of migrants in Serbia.
