Participating in a session of the Committee for European Integration of the Serbian parliament, Joksimovic said that the European Commission's report on fulfilment of the criteria for the opening of Chapter 24 has been passed already.
She said that it is realistic that the third intergovernmental conference is held by the end of the Dutch presidency of the EU, at which we could open two chapters, and possibly Chapter 5.
Speaking on Chapter 35, Joksimovic recalled that the Community of Serbian Municipalities has not been formed because of the apparent lack of political will in Pristina.
According to Joksimovic, Serbia absolutely sees the European Commission and the European Union as the most important guarantors of the implementation of the Brussels agreement.
When it comes to the opening of Chapter 32, Joksimovic said that this is a very good signal given that the economic governance is a priority in the new EU agenda.
In the area of public finance, it is important to strengthen the internal and external audit, internal control, prevention of irregularities in the work of financial institutions and the management of European funds and the protection against counterfeiting of the euro, she said, adding that things are actually well placed in this area.
According to recent research, she said that 48% of citizens support EU membership, 28% are against and 21% of the population is indifferent.
