The Office for European Integration announced today that the Serbian exports to the EU increased by more than 70% in the period from 2010 to 2014, following the implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) and the previous Interim Agreement on trade which liberalised trade between our country and the European Union.

Director at the Directorate General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission Jean-Eric Paquet chaired the meeting at which they reviewed Serbia's progress in the implementation of political and economic criteria, the implementation of reforms in the area of the rule of law and judiciary, as well as the implementation of the SAA.
Furthermore, the Committee expected that the recently concluded stand-by arrangement with the IMF would contribute to further economic reforms.
The Committee stressed that the EU shall continue to support Serbia in its accession process, noting that since 2007, approximately €1.7 billion has been granted to support the improvement of all segments of our society.
Special attention was given to repairing of consequences of last year's floods for which the EU already allocated donations amounting to €102 million for the reconstruction of areas throughout Serbia.
Additional €60 million will be allocated in the forthcoming months from the European Union Solidarity Fund.
Since 2000, the EU and its member states have been by far the biggest donors to our country, with a contribution amounting to 75% of all grants received by Serbia in that period.
