After the opening of this plant in industrial zone North in Sremska Mitrovica, Vucic said that Serbia will become a much more successful country within three years at the latest, with a secure future for its citizens.
The Prime Minister said that this factory currently employs 200 workers, while the creation of 600 more jobs is planned within next two years.
The Serbian government secured €4 million for its opening and the government of Vojvodina €100,000.
He voiced hope that Cooper Standard will make a good and profitable business which they will develop in the years to come, and highlighted that the Serbian government and the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) will be open for further cooperation.
The opening of this factory is excellent news for Sremska Mitrovica, Vucic concluded.

Kirby underlined that he is proud of the fact that investors from the US do business in Serbia, noting that the construction of the factory in Sremska Mitrovica is a true example of good results that can be achieved in cooperation with the local government.
He pointed out that the American investor got the building permit in only 12 days, and underlined that the Serbian government’s intention to work on job creation is obvious.
General Manager of Cooper Standard Jeffrey Edwards said that this company is a leading, global supplier to the automotive industry, and added that it currently employs more than 25,000 people in 19 countries around the world.

Edwards thanked SIEPA, the Serbian government, government of Vojvodina and the Mayor of Sremska Mitrovica, which all provided support during the realisation of the project.
The US factory of rubber and plastic auto parts is located on 19,200 square metres of office space and its construction began in May 2013.
